About this Blog
This blog is primarily about IT Strategies, as its name suggests. IT strategy however has many different aspects to it. IT strategy should sit within a business context and I’m a firm advocate of using the Object Management Group’s Business Motivation Model for doing this. To execute strategy you have to ensure that you have your governance controls are in place. It’s no good to have a beautifully crafted strategy if your execution isn’t aligned with your strategy and that’s why I write about programmes and projects and how they contribute to capability and benefits realisation.
I’m a business analyst by profession, so I post a lot about this too. Often my posts are didactic like my post of visualising tokens in UML Activity diagrams or my post about developing a BA community of practice.
As an employee of the Australian Government, I often post about adopting best practice to the Government domain. I have been continually refining my Government business models and will continue to do so.
